Negative News vs. Positive News
By John C. Burris PFP, RIA
Keep this quick thought in mind as you begin to hear more about worries in the market; we’ll always hear more during negative events than during positive ones.
You’ll never avoid downturns in the market, but always consider the starting point. Yesterday was a bad day if you looked at it alone (highlighted in yellow), but what about year to date. Still up 13.31%. How about the last 5 years? Still up an average of 7.76% per year. Negative news gets clicks, but it’s never the whole story.
